Today’s Nagasawa Kobe ink is #8 Arima Amber. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review. (Right now Kobe inks are 25% off at Pen Chalet).
Arima Amber is a dark red-orange.
Ink large swabs the ink looks much darker than it does in writing.
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
Dry time: 20 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Feathering: Low-there was some feathering in the larger nib sizes on Rhodia.
Show through: Medium
On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in every nib size, and some bleeding in the flex and broad nibs.
Arima Amber is a little bit darker than Golden Ale and Red Orange. Click here to see the Kobe inks together.
Overall, it’s pretty well behaved, but it’s a bit unsaturated. I prefer oranges that are a bit brighter.
