Today's ink is KWZ Azure #3. Thanks to inkjournal.com for sending a sample over for review.

The color:

Azure #3 is a pretty blue.

When the ink is pooled, it turns a dark purple color. In large swabs and ink drops the ink did take days to dry, which has been my experience with all of the KWZ inks I've tried so far this week.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low-a lot of the ink washed away.

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None.

Other properties: Low shading, low sheen, and no shimmer. The sheen only really shows up on Tomoe River paper and a little bit in the flex nib on Leuchtturm.

On 20 pound copy paper the ink behaved well, no issues that I noticed.

Longer writing:

I used a fine Montegrappa Copper Mule on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a nice wet flow.

Overall, I liked this ink best in the smaller nib sizes, which surprised me. I enjoyed in in the Montegrappa Copper Mule fine nib best since it has such a wet flow. Give it a try, you might love it.
