Ink Review #165: Diamine Spearmint Diva

I've been really impressed with the 2017 Diamine Shimmertastic collection so far, so I decided to review another one: Spearmint Diva. I purchased my sample of ink from Vanness Pens.

The color:

Spearmint Diva is a light teal (blue-green) with some shading and silver shimmer. I would probably use this ink the most in the spring.

This ink looks so pretty in large swabs. There is just a tiny bit of pink sheen around the edges.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Low

Bleeding: None

Other properties: Medium shading, tiny pink sheen, silver shimmer

On 20 pound copy paper there was a little bit of feathering in the medium and broad nibs, but other than that the ink performed well.

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Papier Plume Lake Michigan Summer, Diamine Spearmint Diva, and Diamine Tropical Glow. Click here to see the Diamine inks together. Spearmint Diva has a little bit more green than Lake Michigan Summer, and quite a bit more than Tropical Glow.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Edison Nouveau Premier Seaglass (the Spring special edition from earlier this year). The ink is a little bit wet. I didn't have any flow issues.

I love this ink and pen combo. Spearmint Diva matches the Seaglass pen so well.

Overall, I really love the color of this ink, it's gorgeous. I was hoping to see more sheen than showed up in testing, but it does have some nice shading. I love matching it with the Edison Nouveau Premier Seaglass. I do need a full bottle of this ink, because this ink may live in this pen full time now.
