Ink Review #323: Colorverse #11 Morning Star

It's the last day of teal week, and we are finishing out the week with Colorverse #11 Morning Star from Spaceward Season 1. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review.

The color:

Morning Star is a beautiful medium teal. It's on the greener side of teal. It looks much greener on the Col-o-ring than it does on other papers.

In large swabs there is a little bit of dark pink sheen. After three days the ink has still not completely dried.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 50 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shadinglow sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was some feathering and bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Robert Oster Marine, Colorverse Morning Star, and Colorverse Gravity Wave. Click here to see the Colorverse inks together. Morning Star has low sheen, Marine has medium sheen, and Gravity Wave has high sheen.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Pelikan M800 Renaissance Brown on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a slightly wet flow.

Overall, I really like this ink. It has a lovely flow, great color and a little bit of shading, but the dry time is a bit long.
