Robert Oster 7th Anniversary Inks

Let’s take a look at the three Robert Oster 7th Anniversary Inks. You can find these inks for sale at Vanness Pens.

Swabs:

Left to right: Majestic Black, Jewel in the Crown and Mystic Storm.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 40 seconds

Water Resistance: Low-Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: Majestic Black had medium copper sheen. Jewel in the Crown had medium shading and gold shimmer. Mystic Storm had medium shading.

On Walmart Pen + Gear copy paper there was some feathering in every nib size and some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Majestic Black is similar to Colorverse Sunspot.

Jewel in the Crown is a little cooler-toned than Ferris Wheel Press Brilliant Beanstalk.

Mystic Storm is one shade cooler than Robert Oster Summer Storm.

Longer Writing:

All of the inks had average flows. I used a Taroko Enigma notebook.

Overall, these are interesting inks! Mystic Storm is probably my favorite out of the three, but all three are interesting and well behaved.
