Let’s take a look at Monteverde Confidence Blue. I love the color of this ink-it’s so pretty. It would be great as a winter ink or early spring. I purchased my sample of ink from Pen Chalet.

The color:

Confidence Blue is a beautiful pale blue.

Swabs:

In large swabs the ink has some gorgeous shading, almost purple at times.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer. The shading is so pretty!

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and bleeding in every nib size, so it’s not an ink I would recommend for cheap paper.

Comparison Swabs:

Confidence Blue is close to Papier Plume Calle Real, but it’s just a bit lighter. Click here to see the Monteverde Inks together, and click here to see the blue inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a TWSBI Eco Transparent Blue with a medium nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I love the color of this ink, it’s gorgeous! The shading can get a bit light, but it was still readable for me.
