Today’s ink is Lamy Ruby from the Crystal collection. It’s a rather unsaturated red, not a color I’m drawn to. Pen Chalet has some in stock.
Ruby is a medium, unsaturated red.
In large swabs you can see some shading, no sheen.
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
Dry time: 15 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Show through: Medium
On Staples 24 lb copy paper the ink performed well in extra fine and fine nibs, but began feathering in medium and larger nibs.
I used a TWSBI Eco Blossom Red with a medium nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a medium flow.
Overall, I’m just not crazy about the color. I don’t love unsaturated reds, so it’s not an ink I need a full bottle of. It’s well behaved, just not the color for me.
