This week we are taking a look at Nagasawa Kobe inks, so let’s start with Kobe #16 Nada Brown. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review. (Right now Kobe inks are 25% off at Pen Chalet).
Nada Brown is a medium, neutral brown. This color would be great for autumn.
Ink large swabs the ink looks more purple
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
Dry time: 30 seconds
Water resistance: Medium-some of the ink washed away, but you might still be able to figure out what was written.
Feathering: Low-there was some feathering in the flex nib.
Show through: Medium
On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in every nib size, and some bleeding in the flex and broad nibs.
Nada Brown is warmer than Smoky Quartz, but not as warm as Cappuccino. Click here to see the Kobe inks together.
Overall, it’s a lovely wet ink. It’s a nice brown with a medium tone, and just a little bit of shading.
