Diamine Blue Pearl is from the original 2015 Diamine Shimmertastics Collection. I purchased my sample of ink from Vanness Pens.

The color:

Blue Pearl is a dark blue with silver shimmer.

There is a lovely red sheen that shows up in the ink drops.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low-there is just a little bit of bleeding in the flex nib.

Other properties: Low shading, medium sheen, and silver shimmer

On 20 pound copy paper there was a little bit of feathering but other than that the ink performed well.

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Diamine Blue Flame, Diamine Blue Pearl, and Diamine Cobalt Jazz. Click here to see the Diamine inks together. Blue Pearl is darker than both of the other inks, and has silver instead of gold shimmer.

Longer writing:

I used a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise with a vintage 400N nib on Tomoe River paper. I really enjoyed this ink/paper/pen combo.

The ink had an average to slightly wet flow. The shimmer in this ink felt a little more consistent than some of the other Diamine Shimmertastics.

Overall, I liked this ink. The sheen is nice, and I like that it has silver shimmer, which I prefer most of the time over gold shimmer.
