This week we are taking a look at the Colorverse x Opus 88 collection, starting with Colorverse #33 Depth. In each box is a 65ml bottle and a 15ml bottle of matching ink. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review. This ink was designed to match the Opus 88 Koloro Blue fountain pen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low-there was just a little bit of bleeding in the flex nib.

Other properties: medium shadinga tiny bit of sheen, and no shimmer. The sheen was only visible on Tomoe River paper in large swabs.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and just a little bit of bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Colorverse 13 Quasar, Colorverse 33 Depth, and Colorverse 14 Supernova. Depth is much darker than both of the others. Click here to see the Colorverse inks together.

Diamine Tudor Blue, Monteverde Ocean Noir, and Diamine Majestic Blue. Click here to see the blue inks together. Tudor blue is probably the closest, but it has a bit more purple in it than Depth does.

Longer writing:

I used a fine Jinhao Shark pen on Tomoe River paper. The ink had an average to slighly dry flow.

Overall, it's well behaved and a nice color, I do wish the flow was just a little bit wetter.
