cv-andromeda-4.jpg

I have been slowly making my way through the Colorverse inks since I've had a lot of requests for them so let's keep on going. Colorverse #16 Andromeda from Season 2 Astrophysics is a bright fuchsia pink. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shadinghigh sheen, and no shimmer. There was sheen in every nib size on Tomoe River, and in broad and flex nibs on Rhodia and Leuchtturm.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and just a little bit of bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Monteverde Garnet, Colorverse 16 Andromeda, and Colorverse 5 Lights on Ceres. Garnet is a bit brighter and less purple (and has no sheen), Lights on Ceres is lighter. Click here to see the Colorverse inks together.

Noodler's Ottoman Rose, Callifolio Andrinople, and KWZ Raspberry. Click here to see the pink inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a broad Kaweco Sport Sunrise on Midori MD paper. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I like this ink-it's well behaved and a pretty color. Monteverde Garnet is a good option if you are looking for a lower cost option without sheen.
