Our next 3 Oysters ink this week is Seal Brown from the Delicious collection. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review.
Seal Brown is a dark brown with some shading.
In large swabs the ink looks much darker. After a few days the large swabs still haven’t completely dried. There is no sheen.
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
Dry time: 20 seconds
Water resistance: Medium
Show through: Medium
On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in all nib sizes and some bleeding in the flex nib.
Seal Brown is closest to Colorverse Space Laika. Click here to see the 3 Oysters inks together.
Overall, the ink is a bit dry for me, but other than that it’s well behaved. There isn’t anything about it that wows me, but it’s a nice color.
